04 May Lighthouse Launches $100 Million Solar Fund
Lighthouse Infrastructure Management (Lighthouse) today announced the launch of its $100 million Lighthouse Solar Fund, which will be raised over two investment offer periods.
The Fund will invest in a diversified portfolio of solar photovoltaic systems and contracts with utility, government, commercial & industrial and residential customers.
Lighthouse founder and Managing Director Mitch King said that the Solar industry shares many similarities with the early years of infrastructure investment in Australia.
“Lighthouse Solar provides wholesale investors the unique opportunity to access the emerging $2 billion per annum Australian solar market,” Mr King said.
“Investors in the Fund are expected to earn commercial returns on offer in the Solar market and benefit from the future growth of the industry and subsequent portfolio re-rating as the market matures” said Mr King.
The Fund has identified a significant pipeline of opportunities in Australia that is expected to meet the Fund’s investment criteria.
The Fund is expected to produce predictable and sustainable cash returns to investors, which are not directly correlated to returns from investment in traditional asset classes.
“Investors will, in addition to earning commercial returns, powerfully apply their capital to achieve long term environmental and social benefits, accelerating Australia’s transition towards a lower carbon society” said Mr King.
